55 min connection from T4 to T4S
Hi everyone,
I'll be flying from Lisbon->Madrid (IB 3111), Madrid->Chicago (IB 6275) this February. The connection time is 55 mins, and both segments are booked on the same ticket (as a part of a round trip ticket). I'm very surprised that they even allow 55 mins to connect from T4 to T4S!
Question 1: Is this connection even physically doable? You have to deplane, walk to the underground train, go through T4S immigration, and then walk all the way to the end of T4S to board. I've done this connection before, and it seems like every single thing has to go perfectly as planned in order for this to work. Plus, 55 mins is to the time of departure, not to the time where they close the door.
Question 2: I would not be opposed to spending 24 hours in Madrid at all! If I miss my connection, would they book me on the next nonstop flight leaving the day after? I can walk slower to miss the flight. Instead of booking me a nonstop on the next day, would they force me to go on an earlier connecting flight (via other one-world carrier)?
Question 3: If I miss my flight, can I claim the EU compensation? Will they provide a hotel?
Thanks for the input!
