Just finished a weekend stay at the Magnolia
This was my second stay at a SPG property after the merger. All in all a positive stay
Background - Am a Lifetime PPE and this was an award stay
Check-in
We arrived late (9:00pm) and had no wait to check in. our two one night reservations (Chase certificates) were handled with minimal issue. We chose breakfast as the amenity and we given a nice room upgrade.
Room
This is an old building and as such the rooms are not cookie cutter, our room had a sitting area and fireplace. Looking at the floor map it seems that this property has a higher percentage of larger rooms than average. Only gripe was the bath soap was the larger bottles in the shower/tub and in our case housekeeping had not refilled them
Bar/Restaurant.
Breakfast was off the menu. entree item up to $12 plus a beverage. This limited you to about 1/3 of the menu. We were fine with the selection and did not ask if there was the option of getting a pricier entree and paying the difference. We found the quality to be fine and was a nice change from a buffet.
The staff were great!
We liked the hotel and would return, the location was walk-able to the CC or Coors field
