Having grown up in LA in the 80s, my memories of the experience at the International Terminal are anything but rosy. However, I know there have been some big changes at LAX and I'm hoping they have been for the better. I'm hoping someone with more recent experience with LAX will have some good news for me. My question is this:

I have an international flight arriving in LAX and I need to connect to another Delta flight. What can I expect the experience to be like?

Do I still have to check all the way out, walk to some other terminal in the wild blue yonder, and then check back in through security again? Is there a better process now? I'll be dragging my two small children along so I'd like to know what to expect.
