Thanks for the response sqyf! I think I'll give the exit row a try for my flight tomorrow, and if I like it I'll switch out my return seating assignment. I personally find seat pitch a little tight in SQ PE so I'm happy to try the bulkhead and take a risk re the PTV.
Re the newer config, I assume that's only on aircraft which also have the new Suites product installed - is that correct? Mine has the old style suites, so I assume it's the traditional layout. As far as the bulkhead rows are concerned, apart from where they are on the aircraft does it make any real difference to the experience?
Yes, the new PEY is only on aircraft with the new Suites (6 Suites on the upper deck). Between the old and new PEY configs on the A380, the only difference is that for SQ's new A380 config, the bathrooms are directly behind the PEY cabin. In the older PEY config, you had to walk past a small section of regular Y to get to the bathrooms. The PEY seats on the old and new configs are almost identical (Minor change to the electronics but the seat is largely unchanged).
As for bulkhead vs non-bulkhead PEY, the only difference, apart from the screen mounting, is that there is a footrest that extends from the seat in front of non-bulkhead seats, whereas for bulkhead the footrest extends from the calf/thigh rest (Both bulkhead and non-bulkhead PEY have extendable calf/thigh rests.).
