Do you mean the Citi TYP Premier card? Citi Thank You is a points
program. There is no single
card called (simply) Citi Thank You.
At any rate, are you aware that if you close the previous card, any points earned with it will expire in 60 days, no matter what other TYP cards you have, no matter where you moved those points? So unless you've used up all the points from previous card, instead of cancelling the previous card, downgrade it to the no-AF Preferred, that's the one thing which keeps the points alive at zero ongoing cost. (Just remember to use the Preferred at least once or twice a year, to avoid Citi cancelling it for "inactivity", as they like to do.)
