What was the paid fare JFK-ORD? 20k pp is a lot of miles for that short a flight, and the cash fares from NYC to Chicago are generally not bad. Also, I keep an eye out for last minute J seats on AUH-ORD.
I amgot HYD-AUH-ORD on EY biz for 70K miles and ORD->DFW on AA economy anytime for 20K miles. Paid seat us 367$/person for the flight I wanted and since i have a bunch of AA miles I don't mind using the additional 20K miles for just a 2.5 hr flight. 4 hr + 14m5 hrs flights are already a challenge with 2 small kids and so I don't want to deal with more connections or spend more money if I can use miles
