What snarky reps AmEx has nowadays. I called the retention line directly.
The rep says to me: "Oh. I see you called last year about this as well."
I reply: "Yes, that must have been because AmEx assessed the annual fee."
The rep: "There are no offers on your account. I can apply your points towards you fee, if you'd like?"
I'll call again in a week.
Out of curiosity, did you receive and accept a retention offer last year? I ask because I’ve heard unless it’s been maybe 13 months, they typically won’t make another now. Of course, there may be other reasons. Tia. Cheers.
