I wasn't thinking about "rev/award", I was trying to figure out how miles are earned - there's the normal "base fare x 5-11", and there's the "exception fare" earning based on distance. One of the blogs says that it can vary.

Every flight that I've booked through chase earned as if I had paid with cash, so it earned based on the ticket price. I've yet to encounter anything different. Possible they have, but not to my knowledge. Interestingly enough, if you pull up the flight receipt on delta.com you'll see the ticket was paid for with a MasterCard, even though I have a Visa in my wallet!
