Are Marriott Rewards points credited at the end of the stay?

I am doing a long (several week) stay at a hotel and accidentally had my Marriott account set to miles rather than points at the beginning of my stay. I since have updated it to points, but I am not sure whether it will take effect.

I contacted the Marriott Rewards email but they are taking a long time to respond. Does anyone know the answer to this?
