I spent a miserable summer when I was 15 cleaning crappy motel rooms. Behind the pictures on the wall and underneath the lamps were signs that had inventory stickers with prices on them. The best part was the prices--in a motel room that cost $40 a night, tops, the "art" (posters in plastic frames) was priced as $500. The lamps were priced at $750. I must say, no one ever stole either, but I often wondered if anyone had ever seen the signs or if it was because of their sheer hideousness.
