The real Toto brand, basic ones have a fixed metal tube. This is the model that I bought almost a decade ago in Indonesia, and bought for my US residence. Less moving parts, means it will likely still be working even after I’m gone. The first one I bought was about $40.
The ones I got were model Washlet C100. With the retractable wand. Also had the heated seat and a heated water tank. About 300 bucks (?) in 2010. Also a couple of hundred to get GFCI receptacles installed near the toilet.
Self cleans after each use, sort of. But I'm simply more comfortable manually cleaning it weekly. I think of it similar to the bowl. It self cleans but I still manually clean it weekly.
I have no issue with hotel installation because I take it regular cleaning is sop. In a plane lav? Not sure I'm using that one...
