Sorry about that. For some reason, I always forget that hotels (in most chains) can't really touch points reservations.

I would be very wary of doing this. If you attempt it, be certain to contact the hotel prior to arrival to confirm it is okay. I'd strongly suggest getting approval in writing from someone with "Manager" in their title.
The reason I say that is because most hotels will consider your non-arrival as a no-show. The entire reservation will get canceled if you do not arrive by check-out time the day following the starting date of the reservation.
