That's insane. I actually just called to cancel the ticket. I had to argue for the $25 cancellation but she said that I was right there should be no charge and I should get a refund. The ticket no longer shows up under my booking code so I am hoping I don't get screwed but apart from the fact that the flight came down in price since I booked it last night and I am looking at an additional $80 bucks for 2 seat assignments. I am reconsidering my plan of booking on iberia just to get more EQD's on american and just book the cheap ticket on american and forego trying to go for platinum next year.

I have two trips so I know its petty but $80 here, $80 there, it all adds up for just my indulgence of trying to make platinum next year. Flights on regular main cabin are about $550 so may go that route. Want to make sure that my refund comes thru first. Just annoyed with Iberia.
