The secret is the planes, as different planes have different configurations. The larger the plane the more likely your are to get a dedicated cabin. Also if you are on a smaller plane make sure you get as far to the front as you can otherwise you maybe in a Y/J hybrid. i.e. an economy seat with an armrest in the middle instead of another pax.

In terms of boarding etc as star gold/1k irrespective of class you will be welcome at the golden wing clubs or the business first/star gold checkin and similar with boarding. Check-in is usually very prompt at those counters - whereas the hoardes in the Y queues take forever. Remove any orange star priority tags and make sure they put a blue one on. They ignore orange (as QF uses orange) and only seem to recognise the non-conformist blue.

Watchout as the GW clubs are "quiet" so they will not call your flight and they do not have an abundance of monitors. The GW clubs are usually quite well laid out, often with business centres and a very good range of snacks and drinks. Look out for the beer of the month as it is usually very good.

Sorry, I cannot be more help with seating, but I am sure someone will give that info.
