I've seen labels on Marriott hotel irons saying something like, "If this iron is missing then $75 will be added to your bill." (FWIW, the irons probably cost something like $15-$20 each at retail, and even less in quantity.)

The upscale W Hotels chain actually encourages you to take things from the room and pay a ridiculously inflated price. $300 for a (used) Sony bookshelf radio and CD player? No thanks.
