The 777 is a 30 year old design. The A380 is simply a newer aircraft with a better cabin environment.
The seat itself is the same although you do get more space around you in the A380 and i personally prefer arriving into HK earlier for beating jetlag.
I used to do that also but have taken the later flight recently and find I can stay up longer and wake up later, and not 4am as per usual with the earlier flight.
I prefer the A380 in any cabin also as the air feels fresher.
