We're flying SFO-MEL, arriving around 06:30 on a Tuesday. I'd imagine we'll be at the hotel by 09:00. It would be great to get a room then, or at least access to the lounge. I can't imagine that much (shops, museums, etc.) will be open that early.
I reserved a, "King City View Room."
No lounge at this hotel. Most shops open around 9am, museums usually 10am. Being a distance from the airport and due to peak hour traffic may take some time to get there that time of the morning. Most coffee shops/cafes open early due to the morning rush and a good thing is to enquire about the free tram that goes up Flinders street then around the outside of the main part of the city, it is called tram or route 35. Just goggle "Melbourne tram 35".
