I can see the query about "guaranteed" here. Unlike the old SPG language, the hotel is not mandated to upgrade to the best available room, they seem to be encouraged to upgrade in general. I seem to remember Marriott changing the terms recently to be more SPG-like with upgrades in general? Was that somewhere else?
