Would be very interested in views - I've got a 7-night Marriott Travel Package to use and will be visiting Melbourne in January. I have a Points Advance booking held for the Marriott Melbourne (availability finally opened up!) but had the impression that The Westin was a better choice - from reading the last few pages of this thread it sounds like this property has gone downhill (esp with the Metro Rail construction) and I wondered what the current view of it was?

The Sheraton is of course a 3rd option but I'm only Marriott/SPG Gold so the addition of an Exec Lounge wouldn't make much difference for me.

The Marriott option is much easier to book given the IT chaos currently in place but as I say I had previously got the impression it was worth holding out for The Westin.
