You are very welcome. Ask them if they are willing to re-book you via CDG or AMS. UIA is often very flexible when it comes to re-booking following a cancellation. I would ask for JFK-AMS\CDG-KBP-DEL and see what they say.
Apparently the KBP-DEL leg was also cancelled that day. Not sure what the issue is -- they offered to rebook me for the next day, but that gets me to Delhi a day late. So, I cancelled and they'll issue a full refund. Thank you for your help. Maybe I'll get to try out UIA some other time!
(I also found their US number on the website -- earlier I'd looked on the booking email and called Ukraine directly!)
