I studied the question as I travel there frequently and I think YUL-PHL-LHR is the best option. You get a nice little Embraer to PHL, and can most often snag 1A, which is comfy as you are in a 1-2 layout. Then PHL has pre-flight dining which was quite tasty, then sleep on the plane all the way on a 747.
Only downside I guess is no lounge in YUL for the US domestic terminal (they clear you for customs there, which is helpful), but it's got a Tim Hortons so I'm only out a few dollars and just as happy.
