moondog, even as a HKer, this is increasingly easier said than done
1. Account keeping fees
2. 实名验证 (identify verification) is a royal PITA - starting with getting a locally verified SIM and then getting the verified bank account opened
Not every bank in Shenzhen accept HKer account openings now. It's like hunting for CVS.
I have both Alipay HK and Wechat HK verified to the wazoo ("Advanced"). It's totally useless outside HK (tried PRC and Singapore)
I just find Wechat Pay and Alipay very tourist unfriendly - are we all meant to join tour groups now?
