A quick question to add here...I've been to Venice 1 time prev (2011) - heading back in November with my fiance.
Her 1st time...last time I was there I did not visit Murano/Burano (and maybe Torchello?) - and would like to. And make it a special experience for both of us. Prefer this type of experience to a gondola ride.

So far I see all the advertised group tours (Viatour, Venicelink, etc) - but I was searching and couldn't find info regarding getting a private speedboat to go around to various places?
Not necessarily a tour...but a boat that would take us, drop us, and wait while we explore, then go on to the next site, etc. And definitely want to avoid someone who is going to try and take us "shopping" or similar - not that type of tour!

It sounds like ~4-6 hours might be necessary. And I would want the classic Venice polished wood speedboat...so, is that just outrageously expensive?
Do the water taxi's offer this service (like hire out for 1/2 day or full day) - but I'm worried they wouldn't be the nicest boats?
As I said I was doing some searching but didn't come across anything indicating a private speedboat journey.

Just exploring possibilities...
