I had an awful stay at a domestic Hilton this past weekend. I won't get into the details but my question is, is it better to complain to the property or corporate? I spoke to the front desk at checkout but the college aged kid could not have cared less. She took no information and deflected all blame. I am gold, formerly diamond. I have never made a complaint to Hilton before.
When I have a bad experience and the front desk person won't or can't help, I ask to speak with the manager on duty. I explain, politely but firmly, and have usually received a money credit, and once they comped one night's stay.
