Paris cannot have either a Ritz-Carlton or a StRegis property due to trademark restrictions as both the Ritz Paris and the Hotel San Régis have been operating there for a very long time. This is a significant constraint on Marriott’s ability to enter the Parisian market with its top luxury markets.
