Of all the "benefits" all that really likely matters is the baggage allowance. How many bags and is it worth rearranging their travel or yours merely to save a bit? You will have to do the arithmetic.
Often1, you posted recently on the AA thread about this — you said WN is the last carrier to allow impossible bookings. But I don’t think this is correct. I’ve booked plenty of “impossibles” on UA and have never been caught. I have one right now in fact.
