Mangosteen (Chinese uses this name) / Mangkhut (the Thai uses this name) / Ompong (the Philippines uses this name) - all referred to the SAME Typhoon which is named by the Fruit. In fact before that supposedly the name of Duran was once considered but could not be used due to it was too short in alphabets, not meeting the standard of the length of a name to be used for a typhoon... (minimum number of characters?) Mangosteen is too long comparing to Mangkhut, but the Philippines just calls it their own name.
