It's also a safety issue and actually illegal in many states to leave a car idling and unattended. Once you lock the car, it makes no difference since no one can get in anyways.
Totally. Starting the car and leaving it is crazy!

Nothing wrong in simply locking it and going and taking a look. I will attach my dashcam as well, so it is clear that it is taken. Rarely do I swap anyway.
