If you have a Premier+Prestige and can deal with Expedia/TYP hotel inventory (I find it cramped at times) then you might squeeze a little more out of it.
I have found the Thank You portal price to usually be the same. I usually book Hilton or Hampton Inn. I call to reserve so I can add the HHonors number and receive the HHonors rate.
I also got $50 back on one of my stays back in May when Citi had an offer.
