Devil's advocate: if you *don't* take the shuttle, you're going to annoy an Uber driver or cabbie who may have waited in queue for an hour to get your $5 fare.

I'm not advocating *for* doing this, but the bus driver is paid a salary and there's a 99% chance you actually aren't displacing a hotel guest. (When was the last time you saw a hotel shuttle so full it had to leave guests behind?) You literally have no impact on anyone. Often the bus is completely empty and you give the driver somebody to talk local sports with for 5 minutes.

If you take an Uber, you quite possibly are affecting the driver negatively, and he's thinking "why didn't this guy just use a hotel shuttle instead of sticking me with a lousy fare?"
