There's no restriction on the number of times, or interval frequency, to use TWOV. Immediate back-to-back is fine for example.

You will be issued with the appropriate TWOV depending on your flight times. If you are less than 24 hours in PVG you'll get a 24-hour TWOV, if more you'll get the 144-hour. It makes no difference to you, and there's nothing you need do as a passenger about this (there's no separate box to tick). It will be done automatically by immigration staff on arrival.
