Just came back from JNB with a stop over in LHR for some R&R....

Just some few thoughts on the LHR MLL Lounge (given it was my first time in teh new lounge)...

(1) The Lounge was nice and airy - bright, Ikea type furniture.. there are 2 stories, the second level was much quietier. The lounge is shared between SAS/AC.

(2) Since I arrived at 8:00ish in the morning, I requested a shower when checking in... I had to give my boarding pass in return for the key to the shower. There are 4/5 shower rooms, very clean, bright and quite a lot of room. There is a temperature controlled shower (though mine didnt seem to work- it kept getting warmer and warmer even though I pushed cold). Despite the temperature, it had decent pressure.

(3) There are tonnes of computers with high speed internet access on both the first and second floors.

(4) The food offering was not that great... Shortbread, fruit cakes, crakers and cheese. I was starving so went outside the lounge to the caviar house - and had a nice fresh smoke salmon dish (@ $40CDN - oh well that's the GBP for ya).

(5) I was dissapointed that there was no LAN line for laptops. There was only dial up and you had to have an internet provider. There was no wireless connection either.

(6) I was also dissappointed that the lounge was so dam far from the gate. It took about 20 minutes of fast walking to get to the gate.

OVerall, a nice lounge
