You are on duty when you report for work and should be wearing uniform standard plain black shoes.
As CIHY states, you're working from the minute you report. Uniform guidelines are meant to be adhered to whenever you're actually in it. Imagine the critique of BA if all of a sudden their crew started walking through T5 on the
way to report and were wearing whatever they please. I've seen it before when I worked for a certain Irish LCC.
