Took the offer since it makes the card essentially free after the $250 annual travel credit gets factored into the equation.
One humorous sidelight - when retention specialist asked why I wanted to cancel card, all I said was "because of the large number of benefit devaluations over the past few years, which I'm sure you've probably heard a dozen times already today, but if you want me to I'll go through them one by one." At that point rep lets out a long sigh and says "you're right, that won't be necessary".
I got the same on the prestige. $200 credit after 4k a month for three months. There was also an alternate offer to lower the APR to 13.99%. I cited the reduction in benefits as the reason I wanted to cancel.
I think I put 50k on the card last year. I also used the fourth night free seven times and had two claims under flight delay and maxed out the price rewind. I am not sure why they would pay to retain me as I gained thousands from this card.
