I'm looking to travel to SHA and HKG. We do not currently have Chinese visa but getting them probably isn't an issue given our close proximity to SF.
If we were to fly LAX-CAN-SHA on our outbound, am I correct that the only 'transit visa' available to us would be for 24 hours? If so, could we use this visa to transit and catch a flight from PVG to HKG? Then on the return, since we would fly direct from HKG-PVG, could we then avail of a longer visa to spend some time in Shanghai before catching our return SHA-CAN-LAX?
