Kudos to Five Star Service at LAX for providing extraordinary service in assisting my sister and her husband when they had a very tight connection at LAX on 9/4. Their incoming flight was scheduled for a 7:03 PM arrival at the Eagles Nest and they had a 7:50 PM departure to Honolulu at Terminal 5. They’re not as spry as they once were, and I was afraid they were going to miss the connection especially since they were unfamiliar with the transfer shuttle. At any rate, I called Five Star and arranged for someone to meet them and assist in their transfer. I asked if I could get them a ride in the Escalade but was told that request had to come through the “entertainment desk”. However, they assured me that they would have an escort from one terminal to the other. What actually happened is they were met at the Eagles Nest by not one but by two “premium services reps”. My sister asked one of them which bus they were to board and the rep replied, “no bus”. Yup, they got the full treatment with transfer by Escalade to T5. One of the reps showed them to their seats (right across from me) and stowed their carry-ons in the overhead. My sister is not accustomed to such treatment and she gave the rep her heartfelt thanks and a huge hug. It was costly but the peace of mind Five Star Service gave me was priceless.
