Welcome to Europe! Yes, this is pretty much the norm, and we've been here before, the consensus from the thread below is that there is plenty worse out there. You could avoid it if you went via IST. And indeed that is the sort of flight where on US carriers in First there would be little or no service at all onboard, particularly if it was early or late in the day.

You can ask to have the table swung back - and it is removed on some NEO flights - but that's deeply unpopular in this forum (I think).
