I guess I'm in the minority here, but I would take the Starlight over a Cascades. It has a real dining car, and there is time for lunch between Seattle and Portland. The Sightseer lounge is great for viewing the scenery, and the coach seats are much more spacious than the Talgo seats. And if you want to splurge, you can book a Roomette or Bedroom!
