had a blah in a first world sorta way experience here.
rooms are very nice, very well kempt and we appreciated housekeeping. i'd say this is well above usa courtyard hotels.
free parking. very secure as well.
location is AMAZING, right at emancipation park which was nice to do at nigh being that...
...pool was closed because they had a leak and had to re tile everything.
checkin staff super polite and helpful
they did not see i was a platinum, their system indicated i was a gold so i had to push which was sorta embarrassing in front of bae
so we got $20usd per day (10/person) food voucher, to be used (and expiring) every day
buffet breakfast was $20 a person. disappointing as a plat that it was not comped instead of this 10/person credit silliness
first am the buffet was awesome, 3 fruits, not very good cheese (jamaica loves the processed stuff), smoked salmon, about 8 hot options no egg station but had very nice jamaican fish choices. made to order espresso drinks like lattes were additional so that was a bummer
second am the buffet was...mehhhhh. again 3 fruits smoked salmon but the hot options this day were weak. no jamaican fish, just some very weak chicken burger-patties. very very poor. bae and i were very disappointed.
an american style breakfast is not a thing in kingston so we were hamstrung to this hotel for our breakfasts, and it varied between splendid and mediocre. but otherwise we had a great stay. clean and nice rooms. outrageous rates ($260usd a night on the weekend!?) but we used a cert and points so i at least i can say this was a good redemption. which it was.
