Good hotel and location

Location I was first sceptical about the location of this hotel based on some of the input here, but to me, I found the location of this hotel to be very acceptable for touristic point of view. The Airport express stops directly at this property and within walking distance, you have the beach, shops and the Metropolitano transportation down to the Lima district (the historical center). Check In I arrived just after midday at the hotel and I was helped immediately during check-in. The friendlier associate informed me that as an Elite member, I was upgraded to a suite. As usual in Peru, check-in is not as fast as in the US or Europe, copies and different forms needed to be filled in and signed. What I noticed was that the hotel had personalized water bottles for it's Elite member. Since mine was not ready, I was informed that they will send it up later (though it never turned up, but I was ok with it since they did have water bottles in the room). Room The room was very spacious, as expected for a suite. The main room had a nice sofa set and a nice compact dining table that could sit for comfortably. There was also a small kitchenette with a microwave, fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. The bed room was also spacious with a nice working area. The bed was comfortable. There were 2 bathroom/toilets in the suite which to me was quite exceptional for a suite to have 2 bathroom - both walk-in showers. The one in the bedroom was more spacious compared to the one in the main room. The water pressure and temperature was good.TV channels were provided by DirectTV with offerings in different languages. Wifi was fast and signal was good. The room faced the front part of the hotel. The noise isolation in the room was OK, although on the first night, there was some heavy beat type of music which you could hear the beats from the room till somewhat late into the night - was not sure where this originated. Other than that, it will just only be the occasional sirens or honking - but nothing too serious especially during night. Maybe for a very light sleeper this could still be an issue, but in general acceptable noise isolation level. Dining As an Elite member, breakfast was offered either at both the restaurants of the hotel or in the Executive Lounge (with limited options). I only tried the restaurant connected to the bar/lounge for the duration of my stay. (I was told both restaurants offered the same options). The spread was very good with again some nice local food made available including some local fruits. About 4-5 hot dishes were available. Service was very good and eggs were made to order. For those choosing the option in the lounge, there are only 2 hot options available with eggs made to order available. Service in the lounge was also very attentive. Did not have breakfast here, but just went by for a cup of tea and noticed this. I believe the lounge is closed during the weekend for breakfast. Service Service level at this hotel was very good. Every hotel staff was always ready to help and very friendly. During my stay, there was some judiciarial conference ongoing, so there was quite a lot of police and security officers around the hotel during the daytime. Other than their heavy presence, it was never an issue to go in/out of the hotel as a guest, e.g. no getting frisk, etc. Overall The property is a solid Doubletree, and maybe one of the best Doubletree I've stayed in, even better than some Asian Doubletree. For certain it is much better than any Doubletree found in the US. I would even put the service level to be on par or even better than Hiltons found in the US.Would certainly return to this property if I am in the area.
