I just booked a trip to LAX/SFO, flying BA on a 747 in WT+. The flight is in two weeks time, which means only gold and silver can select seats without paying. Looking at the cabin on MMB, almost all the seats are unavailablke to select. Is this normal? Am I flying in a cabin with enough Gold/Silvers to have already taken almost all the seats? Do people without status pay for seat selection in advance? The return journey a few days later on an A380 is similar - 66% of the seats are unavailable to select.
