Maybe I just haven't bumped up against this before...but is this an actual Alaska policy? I'm fairly certain I've gotten a final drink in this close to landing before, so on my flight today I was pretty surprised when I got told very matter of fact by the flight attendant that service cuts off at 40 minutes before landing.

I've mostly been on Airbus flights and this was a Boeing flight, if that matters. Also, I'm mostly just curious, I'm not really looking to submit a complaint or anything.
