For a agent to start cursing you on their way
up from the Jetway, implies he either proceeded down the jetway without clearance or he initiated the verbal confrontation while the agent was walking up. Unless the agent was bi-polar and off her meds, logic suggests the OP had more to do with the confrontation than he's let on. This doesn't excuse the agent's behavior, but it takes two to tango.
The best ways to approach these situations, is to humble yourself and politely ask for a rebooking if flight is closed.
