I'm thinking along the lines of non-combinable fares, time restricted fares, and fare specific routing restricions. Were both cheap fares you priced first coming from the same fare bucket?
Ofcourse there isn't always an explantion for AA.com!
I just went back and tried to see what fare bucket these fares were from. Guess what? The lower fares are gone. It's back to $235 and up. I should have grabbed the $210 fare an hour ago. Oh well. I will keep my eye on it . The flight is next week.
