Well, I guess McDonalds Verifone Point violates Visa's rules too then since NFC will not work until the cashier presses the credit tender key, but it shows "insert/swipe card" the entire time they are taking your order...
I had no idea that was a network rule.
I think there are other places as well where I've been where the NFC is not enabled until the cashier presses credit tender... but I can't think of where offhand.
I would assume when the merchant gets certified for EMV Contactless, there should be a check to make sure it is meeting network rules such as this. But again McDonalds Verifone Point uses EMV Contactless so...?
