Citi Prestige. What a weird call. Asked for retention specialist, didn't get transferred -- just asked if the retention request was for a cancellation. Said "yes" and she just said OK, let me take a look. "No offers on this card."
I proceeded to cancel when I realized that Thank You pts aren't like Amex points where they'd just stay across my accounts and were actually tied to this specific card even if you have other thank you cards.
So I asked again, "So there's nothing you can do to help out with the annual fee?"
She goes, "well, I can put in for a request for a credit, but it wouldn't be for the full $450. Let me look...I can do maximum $100 credit." Umm, ok, I'll take it.
So, I guess technically the $100 fee offset credit is not a "retention offer."
