I am taking my wife to Italy next June for our 10th anniversary and could use some help. We are going to be using AA miles for the trip (hopefully Premium Class), and probably a combination of Holiday Inn and Hilton miles for the hotels for the most part. We have been thinking of staying in Rome for the whole two weeks and working down to other regions after seeing Rome on day trips if possible. My wife is big on cooking, and wants to experience as much on this subject as she can. The Food Network has been a big help to this, and if nothing else she wants to hit the Amalfi Coast and maybe Tuscany. I am more interested in the artwork and architecture, but I am sure I will get a lot of that!
I would like to hear tips, comments, hints, or any suggestions from anyone out here in FT about what to do/see, when I should book my flight and hotels, whether I should rent a car, if day trips are going to work, or anything else anyone may suggest. I would greatly appreciate it!
