Agreed, but for me it is also perception, I feel like at DTW I am waiting for the tram longer than would take me to walk (even without aforementioned maintenance), and walking seems more productive than waiting, even when technically it may not be. Same reason I would prefer to drive 20 minutes in no traffic to avoid sitting in stop and go traffic for 15 minutes. At least you feel like you are moving.
Unless my connection is from one end to the other, say a gates less than 12 to higher than 63 I will probably walk.
I will add I enjoyed the "semantic" debate on what kind of trains these are and how they work, I didn't know DTW was on air or the ATL was on tires. Very interesting.
