MCE doesn't mean you get a wider seat, although on some planes you might. I have a MIA-DFW flight in November that has premium economy available as MCE
I assume that was just a reference to the non-PE equipped 772s that still have MCE in 3-3-3 confit and most of regular coach in 3-4-3. I don’t think they’ve all been converted.
