I don't think this is accurate. You could be liable for the first £50 per card. Also, my experience from a previous hack to a debit card, you need to call the bank to suspend the card and report that it was fraud, but they do not refund the sums back to your account until after their own internal investigation which for me took closer to 2 weeks. I check my online accounts quite regularly.
